We've all been using smoke and heat detectors for years because we see the visible damage done to our homes by fire. Carbon monoxide (CO), however, can be just as damaging and deadly as fires but we seldom think of them in the same light. Carbon monoxide is produced by the incomplete combustion of propane, natural gas, gasoline, kerosene and other fossil fuels. CO causes more deaths by poisoning in the United States than any other poison, with over 1,800 people dying each year. What makes carbon monoxide so deadly is that it is odorless and colorless, making it impossible to detect. USAlarm recognizes the danger of carbon monoxide and offers a carbon monoxide sensor to help us fight this "silent killer".

This deadly gas is easily detected by the USAlarm Carbon Monoxide Sensor. If the Carbon Monoxide Sensor detects harmful amounts of Carbon monoxide, the sensor will set off the alarm and alert the monitoring station at the USAlarm center. The USAlarm carbon monoxide sensor has an internal siren that will alert the center before any real damage takes place. There are two different alarms in this sensor; a pre-warning alarm if the CO level is low and an alarm signal for dangerously high levels are detected in the home. The system comes equipped with a test and reset button in the case of a short failure. This small sensor can be plugged into a wall electrical outlet.

Carbon Monoxide poisoning is becoming more common today so, fortunately, more and more people are aware of the dangers and are arming their homes with protection. USAlarm carbon monoxide sensors are small and very affordable, giving many homeowners the option of having more than one in their homes. A USAlarm carbon monoxide sensor makes a perfect wedding or anniversary gift- an item they'll appreciate but wouldn't have thought of on their own.
