These advanced detectors will alert you and your monitoring service any time there is a quick rise in the air temperature. This allows for a faster response time for the fire department in case of an emergency. This is incredibly beneficial, as many times fires go undetected until it's too late and the damage has been done by the time the fire department arrives. Because these smoke detectors are controlled by the monitoring center, the fire department is notified at the first sign of a problem. In conjunction with the smoke and heat detector, some choose to have the heat sensor as well. This helps to detect a rise in temperature in those dry and dusty areas such as your basement or attic. Sometimes these areas are difficult for the smoke and heat detector to sense the unnatural rise in temperature.
